Ghazi University is one of the oldest universities that holds a lot of pre-partition history. The challenge was designing a present day experience while preserving the cultural narrative. The university is designed entirely based on elements borrowed from Islamic art, and a frequent nod to local, cultural motifs. The design also battles unforgiving heat, hard water, clay-ey soil and frequent drought and dust storms with indigenous trees, and tailor-made solutions to conserve water, and promote native flora.
